Farmington Hills Police Investigate Vehicle Break-Ins at Windmere Apartments

Police say the vehicles entered had valuables left in plain view.

The Farmington Hills Police Dept. issued a Nixle.com alert Monday afternoon following several reports of overnight car break-ins at Windmere Apartments, located east of Halsted, between Grand River and 11 Mile Road.

According to the alert, windows were smashed or doors forced open on vehicles in which valuables were left in plain view. Tires were also removed from a 2013 Ford Edge.

Residents who find their vehicles have been entered or damaged should not disturb anything inside and should immediately call police.

"The Farmington Hills Police Crime Prevention Section reminds all residents to remove all valuables from their cars and lock car doors when parked overnight," the alert read. Anyone with information is asked to call the Farmington Hills Police Department at 248-871-2610.
