Farmington Hills Police Officers Graduate from EMU Program

Sergeants Bonnie Unruh and Jon Haupt are department veterans.

The has announced the graduation of Sergeant Bonnie Unruh and Sergeant Jon Haupt from Eastern Michigan University’s 2011 School of Police Staff and Command.

EMU’s School of Police Staff and Command is a program designed to assist with the career development of police managers. It has a reputation for excellence, and is supported by quality instructors and law enforcement professionals who make up the foundation of this unique educational and training program. Subjects taught in this program include problem analysis, disciplines of management, and the fiscal responsibilities of today’s police leaders.

Unruh is a 24-year veteran of the Department. She served as a police Cadet and then as a Police Officer in the uniformed Patrol Division. Unruh was transferred to the Crime Prevention Section and then to the Detective Section prior to being promoted to Sergeant in 2006, where she now serves as a supervisor in the Patrol Division.

Haupt is an 18-year veteran of the Department. He served as a police Cadet and then as a Police Officer in the uniformed Patrol Division. Haupt was transferred to the Detective Section, where he served prior to being promoted to Sergeant in 2006. After his promotion, he supervised in the Patrol Division. In 2007, he was transferred back to the Detective Section, where he now serves as a supervisor in the Section.
