Farmington Hills Police Seek Suspect in Tuesday Robbery

Police say a bearded man who took cash and cigarettes from a Farmington Hills CVS may also be tied to incidents in Novi and Lyon Township.

A bearded man who stole cash and cigarettes from a Farmington Hills business early Tuesday morning may also be a suspect in thefts at Lyon Township and Novi businesses.

According to the Farmington Hills Police report, a clerk at CVS on Nine Mile Road and Haggerty called police after the man left the store, shortly after 5:30 a.m. The clerk told police that the man wanted to buy cigarettes, but when asked for his identification, he quietly demanded the cash in the register.

The report indicated that the man had his hands in his pockets, but gestured as though he had a weapon. The clerk turned over $100-$200 and three cartons of cigarettes.

Based on surveillance camera footage, the man is described as white, 20-25 years old, with a heavy build, dark hair and full beard and mustache. He was wearing dark blue jeans, a dark blue jacket, sandals with no socks and a dark baseball cap.

The report noted that the suspect matched the description of a man who robbed a 7-Eleven store at 10 Mile Road and Meadowbrook in Novi; he may also be tied to a similar incident in Lyon Township late Monday night.

Anyone with information may call the Farmington Hills Police Command Desk, 248-871-2610.
