The report also provides more detail about the incident, which began when the homeowner answered a knock at her door. She told police that she opened the front door just a crack, and a man wearing a short-sleeved shirt and faded black or gray pants asked for a woman who did not live in the home.

After the woman talked briefly to the man, she closed the door and got ready for work. When she later opened the door between her home and garage, she saw the man who was eventually arrested standing in her garage, pointing a handgun at her head. He motioned for her to be quiet, and she quickly shut and locked the door, then ran to another room and called 911.

According to a press release issued yesterday, police confronted the two men on Orchard Lake Rd. after the homeowner called 911 around 2 p.m. Monday.

As police confronted the suspects, the men ran into the subdivision on the east side of Orchard Lake, south of 10 Mile. Farmington Hills and officers, assisted by an Oakland County Sheriff’s Department helicopter, searched the area.

One of the men was caught at that time, and officers recovered a bag and the suspected handgun used during the incident.

The second suspect is described as a black man in his 20s, approximately six feet tall, medium build, wearing a blue, short-sleeved shirt that may have some black on the sleeves and black pants. Anyone who sees the man is asked to call 911; if you have information to share, call the police command desk, 248-871-2610.
