Farmington Hills Student, 8, Reports Stranger Danger

An elementary student reported that a man tried to coax him into a car at the bus stop at Cranleigh Street and Briarwyke Drive Friday. Police have increased patrols in the area.

Farmington Hills residents will see an increased police presence around schools and bus stops after an 8-year-old boy reported a stranger asked him to get into his car Friday.

The incident reportedly occurred about 4:30 p.m. Friday near the bus stop at Cranleigh Street and Briarwyke Drive, police said in a new release. The child continued walking and told his parents.

Police haven’t taken anyone in for questioning, the Detroit Free Press reports, but have more patrols in the area, Sgt. Ron Shankin said.

The boy said the man was driving a white four-door car and was white, about 6 feet tall and thin.
