have arrested a 14-year-old Farmington Hills boy in connection with a brush fire on property.
According to a police report, officers responded to the school at around 5 p.m. Sunday and found flames in long grass and brush on the north end of school property. They used fire extinguishers to douse the blaze, until Farmington Hills firefighters arrived and finished putting it out.
The report indicated that several witnesses identified the teen as having been near the area where the fire started. When police visited his home, he told them he set the fire with a lighter, which was later recovered on school property.
The teen faces a charge of arson. He was released into his father's custody, pending juvenile court proceedings.
