Farmington Police Calls: Marijuana, Identity Theft
A Detroit man was arrested after he turned over a marijuana cigarette.
A 22-year-old Detroit man was arrested near the entrance to early March 24 after he handed a marijuana cigarette to an officer who stopped him for a traffic offense.
According to the report, the officer stopped the vehicle after seeing that it had a broken tail light. The driver said he had been in a traffic accident in Detroit several days earlier. After detecting a strong odor of marijuana, the officer asked the man whether he had any marijuana, and the driver produced the cigarette, the police report said. A search of the vehicle uncovered a baggie of marijuana in the center console, the report said.
Debit card fraud
A resident on Beacon Street told police that sometime between March 21-23, someone used his debit card to make three purchases, including a $1,200 purchase from a catering company. The man is reportedly pursuing the fraud charge through his bank.

Suspended license, warrants
A driver stopped at Grand River and Hawthorne around 4:30 a.m. March 22 because his vehicle had an expired Ohio license plate was arrested for outstanding warrants and driving with a suspended license. According to the report, the 29-year-old Taylor man told the arresting officer that the car belonged to his church. A search of his record reportedly uncovered five outstanding suspensions, a suspension out of Georgia and two misdemeanor warrants out of Redford Township for driving on a suspended license.
