Farmington Public Safety Investigates Afternoon Break-In

Authorities advise homeowners to replace glass exterior doors.

Farmington Public Safety issued a Nixle.com alert Tuesday, following a Monday afternoon break-in at a home in the 32200 block of Valley View Circle.

According to the alert, someone broke a glass door to enter the home between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Items taken included jewelry, coins, electronics and firearms. Investigators are looking into whether similar incidents have happened in neighboring communities. 

"The Farmington Public Safety (Department) recommends that glass exterior doors be replaced with solid core steel doors," the alert advised. "Also, please be sure to report any suspicious vehicles, persons or situations in your neighborhood to the public safety department immediately."
