Farmington Public Safety Investigates Thefts from Vehicles

Items were taken from cars in four Farmington neighborhoods.

Farmington Public Safety officers investigated thefts from vehicles in early December, in four neighborhoods:

  • A resident in the 33000 block of Macomb called police Dec. 10 to report that someone entered his garage and took binoculars, a night vision scope, a telescope and multi-tool from the console of his vehicle. According to the report, the man told police that the garage overhead door was closed, but another entry door was unlocked.
  • Sometime between 11 p.m. Dec. 3 and 8:30 a.m. on Dec. 4, someone smashed the rear window of a vehicle parked in the 35000 block of Drakeshire and took a boxed office chair from the back seat. According to the report, the owner of the vehicle told police the box was wrapped in red Christmas paper. Police found a landscaping brick near the rear of the vehicle. 
  • A resident called police to report that sometime between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Dec. 3, someone took the dash panel, cup holder, cassette gear, GPS and gearshift knob from a vehicle parked on the 21000 block of Farmington Road. According to the report, entry was gained by pulling a window out of the car frame. 
  • A resident in the 36000 block of Grand River called police Dec. 3 to report that someone took paperwork related to her bank accounts from her vehicle. According to the report, the vehicle was parked in an apartment complex garage.
