Farmington Public Safety Open House Gives Kids a Close Look at Trucks, Gear

The department's first open house in more than 20 years draws scores of children and parents to downtown Farmington.

Farmington Public Safety Department's first open house in 20 years may not be its last. Public Safety Director Bob Schulz said the success of Friday's event, held from noon to 5 p.m. in the vehicle bay and parking lot in front of Farmington City Hall, may lead to another open house next year. Popular activities included trying on junior-sized firefighter uniforms and tours of the station, fire trucks and a Community EMS ambulance.
