Farmington Teen Buys Back Stolen Computer

The Farmington Public Safety Department reports the teen recovered his property from a local reseller.

A 16-year-old Farmington resident and his father contacted Farmington Public Safety Nov. 2, to report that the teen had recovered a computer that was stolen from their home some time around Oct. 29.

According to the report, the teen told police that he spotted his computer at We Buy It and Sell It All on Grand River in Farmington Hills. When he turned on the computer, his name came up on the screensaver, and he was also able to identify the machine's serial number as the one on his computer.

The report indicated the teen was able to buy back his computer for $60. He gave police the name of someone who matched the store clerk's description of the person who brought in the computer and had spent time in his home.
