Jewelry, Purse Stolen From Farmington House While Residents Were Home

The homeowners are hearing impaired, according to police.

Farmington Public Safety officers are investigating a home invasion that occurred at a residence on the 23000 block of Farmington Road, between Orchard Street and Freedom Road, according to an alert from the department. 

The incident occurred sometime between midnight and 2:30 a.m. Wednesday.

According to the release, someone forced entry through the front door of the house. Once inside, they stole jewelry and a purse.

The hearing impaired residents were in the home at the time of the incident, but were not alerted to any disturbances, the alert said.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Detective Andrew Morche at 248-474-5500, ext. 2240. 

The Farmington Public Safety Department reminds residents to consider installing motion detectors and leave porch and driveway lights on during the nighttime hours.

They also say residents should consider installing steel exterior doors with dead-bolt locking capabilities.
