Monday Night Fire Damages Home on Hawthorne in Farmington

The cause of the kitchen fire is not known, Public Safety Director Bob Schulz said.

It only took Farmington Public Safety officers a short time to douse a Monday evening kitchen fire that damaged a home in the 22400 block of Hawthorne, between Astor and Fink, in Farmington.

"They had the fire out within the first couple of minutes of being at the scene," Public Safety Director Bob Schulz said.

No one in the one-story home when the fire broke out, no one was injured and the cause is unknown, he said. Damage was largely contained in the kitchen.

About a dozen officers responded to the 6:40 p.m. call.
