Motorist Stops Driver Weaving on Road in Farmington Hills

A 55-year-old Farmington Hills woman faces a charge of operating a vehicle while under the influence of narcotics, after another motorist forced her vehicle to stop near 11 Mile and Power Roads Friday morning. 

According to the report, officers responding to the scene found the woman very confused and unaware of her location. Medics took the woman to Botsford Hospital, where she was admitted for treatment. 

The other driver told police that the woman's vehicle had been weaving and driving on the wrong side of the road. The driver stopped the weaving vehicle by pulling in front of it. Police seized a prescription bottle of Xanax containing 24 pills, the report indicated.

Marijuana possession, drunken driving charged

A 26-year-old West Bloomfield man faces charges of marijuana possession, having an open container of alcohol in his vehicle and driving while under the influence, following a traffic stop at Orchard Lake and 14 Mile early Sunday morning. 

According to the report, the driver's vehicle was traveling 74 miles per hour in a 45-mile-per-hour zone, and he did not immediately stop when police activated emergency lights. When he eventually pulled over, police noticed a strong odor of alcohol, but the driver refused a preliminary breath test, the report indicated.

A search of the vehicle turned up two open containers of vodka and a marijuana cigarette in a glass jar. According to the report, the man was taken to Botsford Hospital to have his blood drawn for a blood alcohol test. He was released after a relative posted $200 bond. 

Drunken driving charged

A 23-year-old Livonia woman faces a charge of drunken driving, after police found her vehicle blocking a lane of traffic at Orchard Lake and 12 Mile Road at around 2:10 a.m. Sunday morning. 

The report indicated that an officer who was unable to stop reported the woman was in her vehicle making a cell phone call. A second officer arrived to find the vehicle empty, but the driver flagged him down from a nearby gas station. The report indicated the driver told police her vehicle ran out of gas. As the driver spoke to the officer, he noticed an odor of intoxicants, but the driver refused a preliminary breath test. She was later taken to Botsford Hospital for a blood draw to determine her blood alcohol level, the report indicated.
