New Trial Date Set for Farmington Substitute Teacher

Andrew Montgomery Howell faces charges of criminal sexual conduct after a March complaint alleging inappropriate contact with an elementary school student.

A new trial date has been set for a Farmington Public Schools substitute teacher charged with criminal sexual conduct. 

Andrew Montgomery Hall, 58, was scheduled to go on trial Sept. 18 in Oakland County Circuit Court. On Wednesday, The Oakland Press reported the trial has been adjourned to Sept. 25. 


Howell was arrested by Farmington Hills Police on March 27, after an incident during school hours at Hillside Elementary School. Farmington Public Schools Supterintendent Sue Zurvalec said in March that district officials were notified on March 19 of a "complaint alleging inappropriate conduct". He was immediately blocked from substituting in the district.

Police said Howell had been a substitute teacher for 25 years. He was employed by Professional Educational Services Group (PSEG), a Michigan-based company that provides substitute staffing for school districts throughout Michigan and Indiana.
