A 36-year-old Novi man, stopped shortly after 2 a.m. Sunday at M-5 and Farmington Road, faces charges after he got rid of some marijuana by eating it.

According to the Farmington Hills Police report, officers who stopped the man's vehicle for having a defective headlight noticed a strong odor of marijuana. The man produced a medical marijuana card and said he had marijuana on his person, but police did not find any when they searched him.

Asked where the marijuana was, the man admitted he had eaten it. The report indicated that an officer looked inside the man's mouth and saw marijuana in his teeth. Asked why he ate the drug, the man told police he was afraid.
