Oakland County Prosecutor Honors Farmington Hills Police Officers

Sergeant Richard Wehby and Sergeant Michael Flatt receive Distinguished Service Awards on Dec. 13.

Sergeant Richard Wehby and Sergeant Michael Flatt from the Farmington Hills Police Department received Distinguished Service Awards during the Prosecutor’s Holiday Luncheon at the Oakland County Circuit Courthouse on Dec. 13.

Oakland County Prosecutor Jessica Cooper and Chief Assistant Prosecutor Paul Walton presented the awards.

In front of an audience comprised of her entire staff, Cooper praised both sergeants for their “outstanding investigative skills, dedication, and professionalism in the pursuit of justice.”  She added that Wehby and Flatt went “above and beyond the call of duty in the execution of their duties.”

Cooper noted the strong partnership between the detectives and assistant prosecutors, which led to several successful convictions on high profile cases, including the baseball bat attack on the Cipriano family

Tucker Cipriano and Mitchell Young are both serving prison sentences for the murder of Robert Cipriano and attacks on Robert's wife, Rose, and son, Salvatore, in their Farmington Hills home in 2012.
