Police: Farmington Hills Man Opens Fire on Estranged Wife, Another Man

Filip Pjetruski's estranged wife was shot multiple times. A second victim was also shot, but less seriously injured.

A Farmington Hills man was taken into custody Thursday and charged with attempted murder and other charges after police said he pushed his way into an apartment and opened fire on his estranged wife and another man.

Filip Pjetruski, 53, was arrested at the Pavilion Court Apartments after the shootings at about 4:45 p.m. Thursday, WWJ reports.

The man, the less seriously injured of the two, drove himself to the police station to report the shootings, then was treated for gunshot wounds and released from an area hospital.

Pjetruski shot his wife multiple times, police said. She underwent surgery at an area hospital, but is expected to survive.

Pjetruski was arraigned before Novi 52-1 District Magistrate Andra Richardson Friday and charged with two counts of assault with intent to commit murder, three firearms offenses and one count of first-degree home invasion. The offenses are punishable by up to life in prison.

Richardson set bond at $2 million cash or surety bond; he remains in the Oakland County Jail.

Pjetruski’s next court appearance is Wednesday, when he will appear before Judge Dennis Powers.
