UPDATE: Prostitution Reported at Farmington Hills Hotel

According to reports, a hotel in Farmington Hills was part of a child prostitution crackdown.

UPDATE: Farmington Hills Police say they will not name the hotel where they rescued two 17-year-old girls from a prostitution ring, because of an on-going investigation.

According to several media outlets, the case was part of a much larger crackdown on child prostitution in metro Detroit.

An article in the Detroit Free Press states that Farmington Hills police received a 911 call sometime in the last 72 hours from a hotel in the area. The caller told police that two young girls were being forced into prostitution.

Local police are working to identify suspect, the article reports.

In all, 76 cities across the United States were investigated by local police and the FBI over the weekend. In the Detroit area, 10 juvenile victims were picked up by police and 18 pimps were arrested, according to a press release from the FBI.

"Child prostitution remains a persistent threat to children across America," Ron Hosko, assistant director of the FBI’s Criminal Investigative Division, said in the release. "This operation serves as a reminder that these abhorrent crimes can happen anywhere and that the FBI remains committed to stopping this cycle of victimization and holding the criminals who profit from this exploitation accountable."
