Quick Change Artist Hits Farmington Hills Business

A man confuses a store clerk with multiple transactions, according to the police report.

A Farmington Hills business lost more than $178 on July 21, as the result of a "quick change" artist scam.

According to the Farmington Hills Police report, an employee of the business in the 29000 block of 10 Mile Road told officers that a man purchased some items and asked for specific bills as change. In all, he initiated five more transactions involving change and additional purchases, then started flirting with the clerk before he left.

The report indicated that the man was black, between 50 and 60 years old, with a thin build and bad teeth. He was wearing a baseball cap with an old English "D".
