Television Sets, $10,000 in Jewelry Taken in Early Morning Burglary

The victim of a Tuesday burglary says jewelry taken from inside a safe belonged to her deceased father.

A Farmington Hills woman called Farmington Hills Police shortly after midnight on Tuesday to report a break-in at the home she shares with her mother and brother in the 28000 block of Grayling St.

According to the report, the woman was the last person to leave the home at about 6 p.m. Monday. She returned at 12:45 a.m. Tuesday to find the home's rear door forced open. Police found the home ransacked, and the homeowner said two television sets and items from two safes, including jewelry, were missing. The report indicated that the safes were not locked.
