Thieves Target Vehicles in Farmington Hills Parks, Ice Arena
The incidents occurred Sunday evening inside Heritage Park and Founders Sports Park.
Farmington Hills Police issued a Nixle.com alert Monday morning, warning residents about a rash of thefts in city parks and at the Farmington Hills Ice Arena.
According to the alert, the break-ins happened early Sunday evening at Heritage Park, Founders Sports Park, and the Farmington Hills Ice Arena, which is inside Founders Sports Park.
Most vehicles had windows smashed and valuables, left in plain view, taken. Anyone who experiences a vehicle break-in is advised to leave everything untouched and immediately call police.
The alert included a reminder from the department's Crime Prevention Section to remove all valuables from cars, lock car doors, and park in well-lit areas when possible.
