3 Arrested in Farmington Hills After Officer Spots Familiar Name

Farmington Hills Police arrested three men late Monday afternoon, after an officer recognized a familiar name while checking a vehicle registration. 

According to the report, officers on patrol spotted someone in the vehicle making "furtive movements" as they pulled in behind it shortly after 4 p.m. While running a check of the vehicle's license plate, one of the officers realized the name of the vehicle owner was the same as that of a 25-year-old Novi man he had once arrested. The younger man's record showed four outstanding warrants, the report indicated.

Officers stopped the vehicle at Grand River and 10 Mile Road, and the driver told them his license was suspended. One passenger, a 35-year-old Ann Arbor man, told police he had heroin and needles; the other, a 22-year-old Redford Township man, turned over needles. Both those men face narcotics-related charges. In addition to the outstanding warrants, the driver faces a charge of driving with a suspended license.
