Farmington Hills Police issued a Nixle.com alert Wednesday afternoon, warning residents about vehicle break-ins discovered in The Oaklands subdivision, in the Orchard Lake and 13 Mile Road area.

According to the alert, windows on two locked vehicles were smashed sometime overnight on Tuesday. Owners who discover vehicle break-ins should immediately call Farmington Hills Police and not touch anything inside.

The department's Crime Prevention Section also reminded all residents to remove valuables from their cars and lock car doors when parked overnight. Anyone with information about the break-ins should call the Farmington Hills Police command desk, 248-871-2610.

If parents would properly monitor their children so much of this Crw could be avoided. Bring back "come in when the street lights are on". No more. I'll call you crap. Make sure your kids are where your kids should be. I did it with mine and my parents did it with me the kids today run wild. There seems to be no consequences for their actions. It's really sad.
