White Lake Man Faces Heroin Charge in Farmington Hills

A 23-year-old White Lake man faces a charge of heroin possession, following a Saturday evening traffic stop in Farmington Hills.

According to police, an officer stopped the driver on M-5 near Farmington Road, for traveling too slow in the left lane and having an expired license plate. The driver told police he was using his cell phone as a navigational device to find his way home.

Police said the driver also admitted to having a small bag of heroin and a syringe in the car; a search of the vehicle turned up three additional syringes.

A 56-year-old Brighton man also faces drug-related charges, after police stopped his vehicle at Eight Mile and Pearl Street on Friday at 12:15 p.m. Police said the vehicle was weaving, and the driver changed lanes without signaling.

A check of the man's background showed 13 current suspensions and that his license had been revoked eight times since 2003. In addition, police said the man had methadone pills for which he did not have a prescription.
