25 Facebook Pages Birmingham Should 'Like'

Whether you're looking for information on your child's school, a heads up about library hours or reminders about local sales, we found 25 Facebook pages Birmingham resident ought to know about.

Facebook is a big place. A meeting place for millions across the globe, it may even seem overwhelming at times, especially if all you want to do is share that photo of your new granddaughter or reconnect with your neighbors.

So knowing that most of us are less concerned with Farmville and more concerned with what's happening around town, Birmingham Patch has put together a list of local Facebook pages Birmingham residents need to know about. From small businesses advertising their Small Business Saturday sales, to events happening at The Community House, this is the information you're looking for.

While there are hundreds, perhaps even thousands, of Facebook pages in Birmingham, we've picked the ones we see updating often and with information residents need to know. We've excluded business pages as the possibilities in that category are endless, though feel free to talk about your favorite business fan page in the comments below!

Eton Academy is as deserving of a Schools category line as Roeper: www.etonacademy.org/ Facebook users can enjoy a lively group created this year and called "You Know You're From Birmingham, Michigan....," where 1,100 of us share photos, memories and appreciations: http://on.fb.me/QcGm11 And for the record: That autumn treescape photo up top was shot for Patch by a certain resident who hates to be a cheesy credit hog. ;-}

The Village Players of Birmingham should have been included in the community category. It's been a performing arts resource in Birmingham for 90 years, in it's current location since 1926. It is the third oldest community theatre in Michigan and ranks among the 50 oldest theatre groups in the country.
