City of Farmington Hills Names New Economic Development Director

New Director of Economic Development Nancy Cappola is a New York native.

New York native Nancy Cappola has been named Director of Economic Development for the City of Farmington Hills. 

According to a press release, Cappola started work on Feb. 11. She replaces Teri Arbenowske, who resigned late last year. 

Previously Vice President of Business Development for North Star Advisors, a private equity firm in Bloomfield Hills, Cappola also worked at Wayne State University’s Research and Technology Park, where she developed the international “Soft Landings” business initiative, a program of the National Business Incubator Association. She also served as a Deputy Director of Business Development for Wayne County’s Department of Economic Development, where she directed the New Markets Tax Credit Program.

Cappola has more than 20 years of experience in the fields of real estate and banking, and is a real estate broker in her home state. In 2011, she was appointed to the Urban Land Institute’s National Advisory Panel, which advises communities on redevelopment strategies.
