City of Farmington Leaf Collection Begins Oct. 22

City officials say leaves should be raked to the curb, not into the street.

The City of Farmington's fall leaf pick-up program gets underway Oct. 22, with two dates scheduled for every neighborhood.

Officials stress the program is "supplemental", and in between the city routes, leaves should be placed in paper bags or yard waste containers, and left at the curb for regular trash collection. Leaves should be raked to the curb (not into the street) no sooner than 48 hours before a scheduled collection.

When two days are listed, leaves should be at the curb on the first day.
