Community Invited to 'Roast and Toast" Farmington Hills Mayor Jerry Ellis

The outgoing official is honored by the Greater Farmington Area Chamber of Commerce.

A: An evening of praise and insults, at a fine local country club.

The invites the community to a "Roast and Toast" at on Nov. 18 for former Farmington Hills Mayor Jerry Ellis, who is retiring this year from public service.

Hills council member Barry Brickner was elected to fill the post on Tuesday.

Ellis, an attorney, served on the city council for 11 years before being elected mayor in 2007. Prior to his council service, he spent 10 years on the city's Parks and Recreation Commission, including three terms as chair. He is also president of the Chamber's board of directors.

Tickets for the event are $25; there will be hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar. The event starts at 6 p.m. To register, visit gfachamber.com, click on "Register for Events" and "November 18". The deadline for reservations is Nov. 15.
