Farmington and Farmington Hills city clerks say that absent voter ballots for the Farmington Public Schools special election are coming in at high levels.
Between the two cities, more than 6,000 ballots had been returned as of Friday. Farmington city clerk Sue Halberstadt said 1,023 ballots had come in, compared with 1,037 for the 2012 presidential primary.
But this isn't a presidential primary.
Because it's a special election, Halberstadt said, "We don't know if that means a high number at the precincts." Both she and Farmington Hills city clerk Pam Smith have ordered extra ballots, she said.
