Farmington City Manager Makes Finalist List For Troy Post

Vince Pastue is one of five candidates chosen from among 54 applicants for the city manager post.

Farmington city manager Vince Pastue is among five finalists for the position of city manager in Troy. 

that Pastue, Oakland Township superintendent/manager James Creech, Marine City city manager John M. Gabor, Tittabawassee Township manager Brian M. Kischnick and Mark Miller, Troy's director of economic and community development, emerged from a field of 54 applicants for the post. 

In a questionnaire response, Pastue wrote that he is seeking the position for several reasons:

"First, Troy is a very nice community that is safe and clean, along with being conveniently located to recreational/entertainment opportunities, shopping, and restaurants. Second, it is a larger community that would provide a new professional challenge. Third, it keeps me in Michigan near family; my mother is now in a nursing home in the Flint area and her health is failing. Fourth, I enjoy living in Oakland County and the metro Detroit area."

Pastue has been Farmington's city manager since 2003. He came to Farmington after serving as county administrator in Isabella County and city manager in Clare.

Candidate interviews will take place next Wednesday and Thursday, and a public meet-and-greet is scheduled for Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. at Troy City Hall.
