Farmington DDA Seeks Volunteers to Explore Ice Rink
The committee will examine the feasibility of building a skating ring in Riley Park.
The Farmington Downtown Development Authority (DDA) put out a call Thursday for volunteers to help make a winter dream a reality.
The DDA aims to make Riley Park a year-round destination, by putting an ice skating rink in the park during the winter months.
“Having community activities in the heart of Downtown really gives Farmington a sense of place,” said DDA Executive Director Annette Knowles. “An ice skating rink would make Farmington a unique attraction in this area during these cold days.”

The DDA's ice rink committee will conduct a feasibility study to ensure an ice rink is the right fit and will be responsible for fundraising.
“We plan to have a lot of fun on this committee,” Knowles said. “We’ve been tossing around fundraising ideas, like a Snow Ball. And that’s just the beginning.”
