Farmington, Hills Candidates Turn Out in Large Numbers
Nine names will make the Farmington ballot the largest in recent history.
No one at the Farmington city clerk's office – including long-time clerk/treasurer Patsy Cantrell, who stopped by yesterday – can remember having so many names on a city council ballot.
Nine residents have filed to run Nov. 8 for three open council seats. Deputy city clerk Sue Wendel said 15 pulled petitions. The top two vote-getters will win 4-year terms; the third will serve a 2-year term.
Only two incumbents, JoAnne McShane and David Wright, filed for re-election. she would not seek another term. The other Farmington candidates are:

In Farmington Hills, current council member Barry Brickner, whose term expires this year, is the only person to file for a 2-year term as mayor.

Farmington School Board
A total of eight candidates have filed for three seats on the Farmington School Board. Incumbent Debby Brauer did not file for re-election.
Seeking one of the two 6-year terms are:
- Karen Bolsen (incumbent)
- Irving W. Ginsberg
- Samuel M. Ramsey III
- Angie Smith
- Howard I. Wallach (incumbent)
Vying for the 4-year term are Murray Kahn and David Sampson. Only one person, George Gurrola, filed for the partial term vacated by board member Gary Sharp; Timothy Devine, , did not file.
