Farmington Hills Honors Retirees Who Walked for Suicide Awareness

Duane Fox and Dean Cobb receive a proclamation in honor of their 230-mile September walk from Benzonia to Hartland.

Farmington Hills city council members on Monday honored retirees Dean Cobb and Duane Fox, who in September completed a 230-mile walk to raise awareness and funds for suicide prevention.

Dean Cobb, who taught North Farmington High School, and Duane Fox, who served as a Farmington Hills Police Liaison Officer at the school, met with well-wishers at a pre-meeting reception and later accepted a proclamation.

"Our hope is for every step we took, we made one person aware of what we consider an epidemic," Cobb said.
