Farmington Hills Pets Can Come Off Potentially Dangerous Animals List

City Council voted Monday to allow owners, for a fee, a change their pets status in the community.

At its Monday meeting, the Farmington Hills City Council voted unanimously to amend the city code to allow people the opportunity to have their pets removed from the city's list of "potentially dangerous animals".

The animal can be removed from the list if the owner can prove there have been no complaints for 18 months and all other ordinance requirements have been met.

The council also voted to approve a $50 administrative fee for the removal.

At the same meeting, the council voted unanimously to set up fees for land transfers and combinations. As of Dec. 1, there will be an $85 fee for all land transfers and combinations.
