Farmington Road Construction May Continue into September

Street and sidewalk work have closed a stretch of the road from Shiawassee to 10 Mile.

Expect road work that closed Farmington Road from Shiawassee to 10 Mile this week to continue into August – and maybe September.

According to Chuck Eudy, who works with the Dept. of Public Works, the project involves joint replacement and sidewalk repairs. The work may take a month to complete, he said, but could go as long as 60 days.

Cones have been placed to block turn lanes on Shiawassee, although a barricade at the intersection extends only across the north-bound lane of Farmington.

"We will try to maintain local traffic," Eudy said.

Asked whether motorists should avoid the area, he replied, "Absolutely! They should use either Raphael or Power Road."
