Farmington Sign's Extra "S" Stays, For Now

It's not "Powers Road," it's "Power Road". But a source at the Michigan Department of Transportation says the letter mistakenly added to a sign on Grand River in Farmington will stay the way it is, at least for now.

MDOT was made aware of the error about a month ago. Replacing the sign would cost around $500, and painting over the offending "s" would run about $100.

MDOT is tentatively scheduled to do a non-freeway sign replacement round next summer, and whether this sign is included depends on funding.

For the record, Power Road is named in honor of Farmington founder Arthur Power. Who did not have an "s" at the end of his name.
