Lack of Bids Delays Middlebelt Road Project Near Hillel in Farmington Hills
RCOC will likely bid the project early next year, for construction after the 2013-2014 school year ends.
A planned Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) project on Middlebelt Road near Hillel Day School in Farmington Hills will likely not get underway until 2014, after school lets out for the summer.
RCOC spokesperson Craig Bryson said not a single bid came in on the project, which involved a road widening and right-turn lane extension.
"It's pure speculation, but perhaps because this is such a small job, and, thus, has small profit potential," Bryson said, stressing that was just his own guess. "We advertised this project the same way we advertise all our other projects, and we always get sufficient bids on other projects."
