Local veterinarian Christian Ast will discuss how pets have been affected in recent disasters and will provide preparedness tips on how to increase your pet’s chances for survival.

If you are like millions of pet owners nationwide, you consider your pet an important member of your household. The likelihood that you and your animals will survive an emergency such as a fire, flood or tornado depends largely on preparedness and emergency planning.

No registration is required for the seminar. For more information, contact EPC Vice Chair Tim Tutak at 248-417-0930 or tutakt@live.com

What about speaking about how to protect your pets against mosquito problem we are experiencing in Michigan?
Nancy Besser September 4, 2012 at 11:31 am
We need to hear from Veterinarians on topic of mosquito that can kill your dog and is plaguing us now in Michigan. Even with monthly protection what else can we do. One dog has already died from mosquito bite in Michigan and no one is doing article for pets on this issue

That's a great suggestion, Nancy. I'll follow up!

Thank you it is so needed. My dog loves the grass and I have concerns even with using preventatives. I heard one dog died from mosquito already and no one is addressing this yet

Grama, in addition to our Thursday map, you can click on the Events link at the top of the page, andRead More along the left side, you'll see "Garage Sales". Just click on that, and you'll see all the listings. They should be among the events in our newsletter, too. Hope that helps!
