Local Representative Sought for Women's Advisory Commission

Contact County Commissioner Bill Dwyer to represent District 14.

On Thursday, March 31, 2011, newly appointed members of the 2011-2012 Women’s Advisory Commission will meet for an orientation session at 5 p.m., in the Oakland County Board of Commissioners Auditorium, located at 1200 North Telegraph Road in Pontiac.

There is an opening in District 14, which includes Farmington and the western portion of Farmington Hills. Anyone interested in representing the area is encouraged to contact County Commissioner Bill Dwyer, at wdwyer@mi.rr.com. While a District 15 representative has been appointed by County Commissioner Jim Nash, volunteers are encouraged to participate in the group's projects. Contact Nash at jimnash2004@msn.com.

To apply, go to oakgov.com/boc and click on the Women’s Advisory Commission link. The Women’s Advisory Commission will determine a course of action at its organizational meeting and present year-end findings in a report to the Oakland County Board of Commissioners in December.

For more information, contact Women's Advisory Commission ex-officio representative Marcia Gershenson at 248-808-1032.
