Office Move Uncovers a Little Farmington History

Farmington city manager Vince Pastue shares a guest book from the opening of city hall.

With Farmington Downtown Development Authority director Annette Knowles moving to city hall and taking on the role as assistant to city manager Vince Pastue, there's some office shuffling going on at city hall.

As Pastue was preparing to move his office, he uncovered a guest book that dates back to when city offices moved from 33312 Grand River, a former bank building, to the new city hall on Liberty Street, in October of 1963 – 50 years ago.

The first council meeting in the new chamber, according to the book, was held on Oct. 7. Pastue also found photos from the opening of city hall.
