The Week Ahead: City Council, Musicale, American Legion
Farmington Hills officials will once again take up the issue of medical marijuana-related businesses Monday.
City business, a musical interlude and ballroom dancing are all on our calendar this week. And that's just the start of what's going on in Farmington and Farmington Hills.
- During their regular meeting Monday night, City Council members will take another run at crafting an ordinance that will affect medical marijuana-related businesses. But before that, they'll meet the Hills Police Department's new K-9 Argos, discuss invisible fencing requirements and a proposed Special Services policy regarding sponsorships, naming rights and advertising during a study session at 6 p.m. Argos will also make an an appearance at their regular meeting, which begins at 7:30 p.m., and there's always time for public comment on any issue.
- Rosemary Conklin, a geriatric clinician for Oakland Family Services, will discuss intimacy and aging issues for adults 50 and older at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the . Attendees will learn about the normal changes bodies go through as they age and how to adapt to them. .
- The Farmington Musicale takes to the road for a performance at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Steinway Gallery, 2700 E. West Maple in Commerce Township. Enchanting Ensembles, a free music program, will feature live piano duets and piano duos. Learn more on the Farmington Musicale website.
- The Farmington Zoning Board of Appeals meets at 7 p.m. Wednesday at at .
Members of the are always looking for a few good men and women to join them at 7:30 p.m. on the first Thursday of the month. Anyone who served honorably or is currently serving in the military may join the American Legion; mothers, grandmothers, wives, daughters, sisters or granddaughters of current members or deceased veterans are eligible to join the Auxiliary. .
