Want Your Name to Go Down (or Up) in History?

Residents have the opportunity to sign the City of Farmington Hills' new water tower tank Oct. 21-25.

Farmington Hills officials are giving residents the opportunity to put their names on the city's new water tower tank, while supporting four good causes.

Stop by the Division of Public Works Oct. 21-25, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., and for a minimum donation of $5, you can sign your name on the 3 million gallon tank with a permanent marker. Your name will also be enshrined on a marker at the base of the tower after the tank is placed on top of the tower.

Residents are asked to call the DPW, 248-871-2850, to let staff know what time they will arrive, especially with groups of five or more. Everyone is encouraged to participate, but because of conditions on the construction site, the city may not be able to accommodate residents using wheelchairs or other assistive devices.

Each $5 donation may be designated for Friends of the Rouge, the American Cancer Society, Graham E. Smith Memorial Fund for Suicide Prevention or Farmington/Farmington Hills Foundation for Youth and Families.
