Waste Management Expects 4-Week Delay in Small Recycling Cart Delivery

The 35-gallon carts are out of stock, due to a large demand for them.

If you're waiting for a new 35-gallon wheeled recycling cart, you may have to wait a little longer. 

The announced today that Waste Management, which has been delivering three sizes of carts this month to residents in Farmington and Farmington Hills, is out of the smallest size. The company estimates a four-week delay in delivery; in the meantime, residents will receive 64-gallon carts to use.

Residents will be contacted as soon as the 35-gallon carts become available and notified about how to handle the exchange.

Old recycling bins can be donated to  by dropping them off at the Farmington Farmers and Artisans Market on August 25, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.; the Peace Love & Planet school maintenance team will wash and distribute them. Through the end of September, bins can be dropped off at the FPS Facilities Building at 29350 West 10 Mile Rd. in Farmington Hills.

Bins may be reused for storage, placed in the new carts for recycling or taken to the Southfield Recycling Drop-Off Center at 20000 W. Eight Mile Road.
