When Does Yard Waste Collection End?
Michigan state law requires that yard waste cannot be collected starting on Dec. 2.
Yard waste pickup will end this year in Farmington Hills and Farmington during the week of Nov. 25-30.
There will be no pickup of garbage, recycling or yard waste on the Thanksgiving holiday, Nov. 28. Thursday’s collection will happen on Friday, and Friday’s collection will happen on Saturday.
Starting Dec. 2, yard waste cannot be picked up, in accordance with the refuse contract and Michigan laws governing yard waste disposal. Any accumulated yard waste should be stored until spring pickup resumes in early April 2014.
