Free Seminar Focuses on Home Energy Efficiency

The Home Energy Audit Seminar will be held Nov. 28 at Longacre House in Farmington Hills.

Spaces are still open for a free Home Energy Audit Seminar, held Nov. 28 from 7 p.m.-8:30 p.m. at Longacre House, 24705 Farmington Rd. in Farmington Hills.

A home energy audit is a great tool to assess your home’s energy efficiency and figure out which improvements will save you the most energy and money. Participants will also learn about money that is available through utility rebate programs from Consumers Energy and DTE.

Home energy audits can:

  • Pinpoint where your house is losing energy
  • Determine the efficiency of your heating and cooling systems
  • Show you ways to use less energy
  • Identify which improvements will save you the most money

Tests can determine the source of drafts and leaks, check the efficiency of your heating equipment, ensure good indoor air quality levels, and detect flaws in your wall and attic insulation. The results of a home energy audit will help you save money and improve the comfort, health, and safety of your home.

Light refreshments will be served at the event. To register for the free Home Energy Audit Seminar or for more green tips, visit www.sustainablefh.com

The event is hosted by Farmington Hills Commission for Energy and Environmental Sustainability, in partnership with Ecotelligent Homes, DTE Energy, and the City of Farmington.

I don't know what to "click" on to find the garage sales. They used to be "rightRead More there" when I opened the Patch email everyday. I am assuming they are now listed under something else and I guess I need instructions as to where to find it and what to click on to get to them. thanks

Grama, in addition to our Thursday map, you can click on the Events link at the top of the page, andRead More along the left side, you'll see "Garage Sales". Just click on that, and you'll see all the listings. They should be among the events in our newsletter, too. Hope that helps!
