Assembly at North Farmington Celebrates the School's 50th Anniversary

A time of reflection is planned Sunday morning at the school's new outdoor classroom.

is starting the school year with a celebration – and an invitation to the community to share in a time of reflection.

On Wednesday, students dedicated a time capsule and their new outdoor classroom space. The assembly celebrated the school's 50th anniversary; students, faculty, new principal Joe Green and the school's first principal, Harold Humble, spoke during the event.

Located behind the school near the tennis courts, the outdoor classroom includes a sculpture containing an artifact from the World Trade Center, which was destroyed in terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001. On Sunday, the community is invited to commemorate that tragic event's 10th anniversary with a time of silent reflection at 8:30 a.m.
