With wind chills falling as low as 35 degrees below zero, Farmington Public Schools officials and Farmington area private schools have cancelled classes Tuesday.

This marks the third weather-related closure since classes resumed on Jan. 2.

Walled Lake Schools, which serves a portion of Farmington Hills, has also closed Tuesday.

The National Weather Service forecasts a blast of Arctic air that will bring southeast Michigan the coldest temperatures and wind chills "in perhaps 20 years". The wind chill warning is in effect through 7 a.m. Wednesday.
