Dangerous Wind Chills Close Farmington Schools Tuesday

This marks the third weather-related closing for Farmington students since classes resumed Jan. 2.

With wind chills falling as low as 35 degrees below zero, Farmington Public Schools officials and Farmington area private schools have cancelled classes Tuesday.

Walled Lake Schools, which serves a portion of Farmington Hills, has also closed Tuesday. 

The National Weather Service forecasts a blast of Arctic air that will bring southeast Michigan the coldest temperatures and wind chills "in perhaps 20 years". The wind chill warning is in effect through 7 a.m. Wednesday.
