Help Your Pet Survive an Emergency

If you’re like millions of animal owners nationwide, your pet is an important member of your household.  The likelihood that you and your animal will survive an emergency such as a fire, flood or tornado depends largely upon emergency planning done before the incident occurs.

The Farmington Hills/Farmington Emergency Preparedness Commission will present a free seminar,“Preparing Your Pets for Emergencies and Disasters", in the Shannon Room at the Costick Center.  Prior registration is not required for this presentation.

Veterinarian Christian Ast will discuss how pets have been affected by recent disasters.  He will provide information and offer tips about the steps you can take to keep your pets safe and prepare them for emergencies.  Lori Wieber will discuss the operations of the Michigan State Animal Response Team (MI-SART), which provides assistance to animals and their owners during emergencies and disasters.
