Farmington Hills Students in Marian-Rice Production

'You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown' opens Nov. 17 at Marian High School.

A number of local residents will help the Marian-Rice Players bring the revised, Broadway version of You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown to the stage Nov. 17-20 at the , 7225 Lahser Road, Bloomfield Hills.

Samantha Danko of Farmington Hills plays the irrespressible Woodstock, while Robert Sawyer of Farmington Hills tickles the ivories as the Beethoven-loving Schroeder.

The musical tells the story of a day in the life of Charlie Brown, played by Alexander Borrello of Novi, as he struggles through book reports, baseball games, kite flying, and a little philosophy. But Charlie Brown’s self-defeated stubbornness wouldn’t be the same without his friends: the outspoken Lucy, played by Elizabeth McIsaac of Bloomfield Hills, her brother Linus, played Marcus Rottenberk of Troy and Charlie Brown’s sister Sally, played by Olivia Lehnertz, of Royal Oak. Of course, his more or less faithful beagle Snoopy joins the team, played by Chris Semaan, of Livonia. The cast is rounded out with an ensemble of the Peanuts Gang, Violet (Rachel Bartkowiak of Troy), Pig Pen (Alex Dennis of Franklin), Peppermint Patty (Kristy Curnow of Shelby Township), and the Little Red-Headed Girl (Nora Lynch of Birmingham ).

Under the guidance of Set Construction Director / Scenic Designer Michael Campion (Southfield), and Technical Director, Noel Montales (Troy) are Student Crew Managers: Set Construction: Alex Carey (Birmingham), Alicia Moran (Birmingham), Art: Joey Crimmins (Rochester Hills), and Isabella Kilanowski (Rochester), Properties: Irene Syriac (Northville), Sound: Heidi Kurn (Troy), and Lighting: Ben Urlaub (Birmingham). Other crew managers include Costumes: Julia Pickens (Bloomfield Hills) and Laura Dean (Troy), Hair/Make-up: Megan Cuff (Troy) and Annabel Shea (Bloomfield Hills), and Media: Claire Roma (South Lyon) and Katrina Danko (Farmington Hills), who is also student producer. Samantha Danko of Farmington Hills is a student choreographer, along with Maria Blanco of Bloomfield Hills.

The Production team is led by MRP Director, Roberta Campion (Director/Choreographer) of Southfield and MRP Producer, Christine Borrello (Producer) of Novi. Joining the team is Christina Kelbert (Vocal and Music Director) of the Marian performing arts faculty; Christine Gahman of Rochester (Accompanist); Student Directors, Claire Roma of South Lyon and Caron Lindsay of Rochester Hills.

Performances on Nov. 17, 18 and 19 are at 7 p.m.; the Nov. 20 performance is 2 p.m. Tickets are $14 for adults; $12 for children 12 and under and seniors 65 and older. All seats are reserved.
